SINGLES

Congratulations to Darien for capturing the 2008 Class M State title and also to runner-up Fairfield Warde. Great effort and sportsmanship today from all of the finalists. And congratulations to Mike Taylor of Darien for winning the Class M Singles title and also to Jeff Deacon and Mike Ruotolo of Guilford for winning the Class M Doubles title. Many thanks to all of the players, coaches and parents for their support and sportsmanship throughout the entire tournament.
We also extend our appreciation to the individuals at the Yale tennis facility, Hamden HS and Conard HS for making this year's tournament such a success. A special acknowledgement of the the efforts of Andy Raucci last year for insuring the M's even happened given the size of the draw. He continued to be a superb director again this year. A final thanks to Rex Smith who dedicated many hours and lots of energy to help make this tournament the best it could be-great job Rex and thank you.
Mike Taylor, Dane Gebauer, Chris Martin, Dan Prior, Mike Ruotolo, Jeff Deacon, Nicholas Visinski, and Jake Zhiltsov have all earned All-State honors. Also, all finalists have qualified to compete in the State Open Tournament next weekend. Players should arrive at Conard HS for the State Open no later than 1:30pm for a prompt 2pm start.
With anticipated heat coming our way, it is imperative that all participants hydrate well before actual game time. Please continue to check this site for any possible postponements or changes to the schedule.
