Andre Barrett scored on a 14-yard interception return as Hyde (12-0) rallied to defeat Cromwell (9-3) for the Class S championship Saturday at Jess Dow Field in New Haven.
Hyde quarterback and team MVP Chaz Neal had a 51-yard touchdown run and rushed for 97 yards. Cromwell the only team to shut out Hyde in the first half, took a 7-0 when John D'Orio scored on a 14-yard reception from Carmichael Gordon with 9:23 left in the second.

WEST HAVEN - The Hyde Leadership-New Haven football team got three touchdowns from Dy?onne Crudup and waltzed to a 56-22 win over Northwest Catholic in a Class S semi-final contest at Ken Strong Stadium.
Crudup finished carrying 15 times for 196 yards and wide receiver Willie Harriet caught 4 passes for 53 yards and two touchdowns for Hyde. Harriet also had a rushing touchdown of 47 yards.
Justin Jarvis was a bright spot for the Indians, catching 9 balls for 133 yards and all three of Northwest Catholic?s scores on the night.

ROCKY HILL -- Jason Santiago gained 139 yards on 22 carries to lead Cromwell past Ansonia 27-19 in a CIAC Class S semifinal football game Tuesday at Rocky Hill High School.
The No. 2 seed Panthers (9-2) will play Hyde-New Haven in the final Saturday at a time and site to be announced today.
Cromwell overcame Darnell Cooks' 61-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage for the No. 3 Chargers. Santiago scored on a 19-yard run and quarterback Carmichael Gordon threw a 14-yard TD pass to Anthony Lazzaro to give the Panthers a 14-7 lead after the first quarter.
After Tyler Little scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter for Ansonia, Clint Walker scored on a 42-yard fumble return to give Cromwell a 21-13 halftime lead.
Cooks scored on a 6-yard run in the third. Cromwell answered with a 1-yard run in the fourth for the final score.
