WEST HAVEN -- Senior defensive back Andrew Jackson returned a fumble 91 yards for a touchdown and also had an interception and five tackles as New Britain defeated West Haven 13-0 in the Class LL championship game Wednesday night at Strong Stadium.
New Britain (12-0), which won its second Class LL title in the last three years, scored the game's only offensive touchdown on a 14-yard pass from Andru Maisto to David Reed.
The defenses dominated the matchup of unbeaten teams as New Britain held West Haven to 117 yards of
total offense and forced five turnovers. West Haven (10-1-1) held New Britain to 237 yards of offense and forced seven turnovers.
West Haven senior defensive tackle Desmond Lymon had eight tackles and three fumble recoveries.
The Blue Devils best scoring chance came after West Haven linebacker Dante Douthit jarred the ball loose from New Britain quarterback Andru Maisto. Lymon recovered at the New Britain 45. Six plays later, West Haven was forced with a 4th-and-2 from the New Britain 8 and West Haven quarterback Levi Jordan appeared to be headed for the first down. But New Britain senior defensive back Nate Daniel stripped the ball from Jordan and Jackson raced 88 yards for the touchdown.
Randy Luke was New Britain's leading rusher with 39 yards. Jordan led West Haven with 36 yards rushing.

WEST HAVEN - Dante Douthit scored two touchdowns and West Haven held off Danbury‚s last-minute attempts to take the lead on the way to a 18-13 in the Class LL semifinals Tuesday.
Douthit, who finished with 129 yards on a 22 carries gave the Westies a 12-0 lead at the half on touchdown runs of 10 and 25 yards.
Danbury (9-4) scored on an 80-yard run by quarterback Glen Mourning to start the third quarter and then again on a Mourning 15-yard pass to Leon Breece midway through the fourth quarter.
But the Hatters failed on a fourth down at the West Haven 5 yard line with 43 seconds to play trailing 18-13.
West Haven quarterback Levi Jordan threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Allan Brockenberry late in the third quarter to give the Westies an 18-6 lead.
West Haven will meet New Britain in the Class LL final Saturday.

NEW BRITAIN - JonJon Morales grabbed two touchdown passes in the second quarter and the Blackshirt defense did the rest Friday night as New Britain advanced to the Class LL final with a 20-0 victory over Greenwich at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Morales caught scoring strikes of 28 and 12 yards from quarterback Andru Maisto to give the Hurricanes (11-0) a 20-0 lead heading into halftime.
Tailback Andrew Jackson, pressed into action in the absence of New Britain rushing leader Randy Luke, scored the first touchdown of the game on a 1-yard run with 1:28 left in the first quarter.
Defensive end Josh Jennings, cornerback Nate Daniel, safety Terrance Lee and linebacker Kiwan Fountain keyed a ferocious New Britain defense that limited Greenwich (10-2) to just 22 yards. Jennings made six plays behind the line of scrimmage.
The combination of pressure from the defensive front and blanket coverage in the secondary prevented Greenwich quarterback Pat Wilson from completing a pass (0-for-9, 1 interception).
